Advocacy 101 for Teen Girls Webinar introduces girls ages 13 to 17 to policy making, advocacy and fundraising. The class begins with an introduction to the policy-making process then explores the ways to advocate and issue campaigns. The class concludes with fundraising planning. Webinar orders include a GIP t-shirt, GIP treat bag and student workbook. Webinars are hosted on the WebEx platform.

Business 101 for Girls Webinar introduces girls ages 10 to 15 to basic business principles including the forms and types of businesses, business strategy, marketing and finance. Webinar orders include a GIB t-shirt, GIB treat bag and student workbook. Webinars are hosted on the WebEX platform.

Civics 101 for Girls Webinar introduces girls ages 10 to 15 the structure of the United States government, the state and federal electoral systems and the ways that girls can become civically engaged in their communities. Webinar orders include a GIP t-shirt, GIP treat bag and student workbook. Webinars are hosted on the WebEX platform.

Community Organizing for Girls Webinar introduces girls ages 12 to 17 to the fundamentals of community organizing. The class starts by defining community organizing and how it can be used as an effective tool for change. Students learn how to craft messaging that has impact, build a base of support, develop leadership teams, form coalitions with community partners and plan events.Webinars are hosted on the WebEX platform.

Introduction to Government for Girls Webinar teaches girls ages 8 to 9 about the structure of the United States government at the local, state and federal level. Students also learn about the electoral system and the ways citizens can participate in government.Webinars are hosted on the WebEX platform.

United Nations 101 for Girls Webinar introduces girls ages 10 to 15 to the structure of the United Nations, its work and international politics. Students engage in group discussion of current events and geopolitical issues proposed resolutions to these issues.Webinars are hosted on the WebEX platform.

Virtual Camp Congress for Girls introduces girls ages 11 to 16 to politics. Virtual Camp Congress for Girls begins with a lesson on the structure of the United States political system. Each student will choose to run for a seat in the US House of Representatives, the US Senate or for the presidency. She will create her own campaign with a platform, campaign finance donor list and a campaign poster. All campers will register to vote and then cast a virtual ballot in for our virtual President and Vice President. Our virtual Congress will be sworn-in as will the President and Vice President. The newly installed members of Congress will learn how to introduce a draft a bill, debate the merits of the bill, collaborate with the Executive branch and finally vote on the proposed bill. Class will culminate with a virtual signing of the bill by our Ms. President.Students will complete their campaign poster in digital format before class and share it during class.The class will be hosted via Zoom or Cisco WebEx.

Virtual Camp United Nations for Girls introduces girls 10 to 16 to international politics and the work of the United Nations. Virtual Camp United Nations begins with a lesson on the history of the United Nations and its purpose. This is followed by a study of the structure, leadership, and the rules of procedure of the United Nations. Each student will be given an assignment to serve as a delegate for a UN Member State. When the General Assembly convenes delegates will propose a resolution. The resolution will be subject to negotiation and amendment by the UN Delegates before a vote on a final version of the resolution.Each student will receive a short research assignment for their member state and will recreate the national flag of their assigned member state. The class will be hosted via Zoom or Cisco WebEx.

Virtual Camp Parliament for Girls introduces girls ages 11 to 16 to the parliamentary system of government. Virtual Camp Parliament for Girls begins with a lesson the structure and history of the government. The lesson goes on to review the eligibility requirements to stand for office and a review of political parties with students for their own parties. Students will learn about the structure of elections and the women that made history serving in government. Each student will stand for office, create a campaign platform, vote in a virtual election, and form a government to pass a bill. Each student will serve as a MP.The class will be hosted via Zoom or Cisco WebEx.

Camp Congress for Girls introduces girls ages 8 to 17 to United States political system. Camp begins with a lesson on the structure of our political system. Each girl will choose to run for a seat in the US House of Representatives, the US Senate or for the presidency. She will create her own campaign with a platform, campaign slogan, campaign finance plan, campaign marketing materials and a political ad for YouTube. All campers will register to vote and then vote in an election. Once elected to Congress and sworn in, the newly installed members of Congress will learn how to introduce a bill, debate the merits of the bill, lobby fellow legislators, collaborate with the Executive branch and finally vote on the proposed bill. Camp will culminate with a ceremonial signing of the bill by our Ms. President.

Mini Camp Congress for Girls introduces girls ages 6 and 7 to the United States political system. Camp begins with a lesson on the structure of the U.S. political system, the process of running for office and voting in the United States. Each girl will create a platform of issues she cares about most, create her own campaign poster and record a campaign ad for YouTube. Camp will culminate with the girls convening a Congress and passing their own bill. All girls will serve as members of Congress.

Camp United Nations for Girls introduces girls ages 8 to 17 to international politics and the work of the United Nations. Camp begins with a lesson on the history of the United Nations and its purpose. This is followed by an explanation of the structure, leadership and the rules of procedure of the United Nations starting with the General Assembly and subsidiary organs. Participants learn about the specific work undertaken by the United Nations’ boards, commissions, committees, councils and panels and working groups. Prior to convening the General Assembly, each participant will be assigned a country and solve geopolitical challenges in regional work groups. When the General Assembly convenes delegates will give speeches, negotiate with other delegates, caucus and propose resolutions along with amendments before finally voting.

Mini United Nations for Girls introduces girls ages 6 and 7 to the basic principles and goals of the United Nations. Each girl serves as delegate for a United Nations member state, creates her member state’s flag, learns about the United Nations’ sustainable development goals and contributes to the General Assembly’s resolution.

Camp Parliament for Girls introduces girls ages 8 to 16 to the parliamentary system of government. Camp begins with a lesson on the structure and history of the Parliament. The lesson will include a brief history of the Parliament, eligibility requirements to serve, a review of political parties, the structure of parliamentary elections and recognition of the notable female political leaders. Camp will culminate with students forming their own parliament to propose, debate and vote on a law. Each girl will serve as an MP.

Daughter and Mother Camp Congress for Girls introduces girls ages 8 to 17 and their mothers to politics. Camp begins with a lesson on the structure of our political system. Each girl will choose to run for a seat in the US House of Representatives, the US Senate or for the presidency. Each mother will serve as her daughter’s campaign manager. Together, daughter and mother will create a political campaign with a platform, campaign slogan, campaign finance plan, campaign marketing materials and a political ad for television. All campers and mothers will register to vote and then vote in an election. Once elected to Congress and sworn in, the newly installed members of Congress will learn how to introduce a bill, debate the merits of the bill, lobby fellow legislators, collaborate with the Executive branch and finally vote on the proposed bill. Together, daughter and father will create a political campaign with a platform, campaign slogan, campaign finance plan, campaign marketing materials and a political ad for television. All campers and fathers will register to vote and then vote in an election. Once elected to Congress and sworn in, the newly installed members of Congress will learn how to introduce a bill, debate the merits of the bill, lobby fellow legislators, collaborate with the Executive branch and finally vote on the proposed bill. Fathers will serve as House, Senate and White House aides assisting daughters in their work. Camp will culminate with a ceremonial signing of the bill by our Ms. President.

Girls in Business Camp introduces girls ages 10 to 15 to the basic business principles including strategy, marketing and finance. Each girl will then create her own business. She will name her business, create a mission statement, create a logo, create a slogan or tagline, design a business card, create a marketing plan and a finance plan. The class culminates with each girl pitching her business to fellow participants who will be serving a panel of mock investors. Investors select business in which to invest and complete a Certificate of Investment for the businesses she will fund.

Politics, Advocacy & Political Careers for Girls introduces girls ages 13 to 17 to the structure of the United States political system at the federal level. The class then examines the contributions of women political leaders beginning with Jeannette Rankin and moving through to present-day leaders. The advocacy portion of the session defines advocacy, the ways one can effectively advocate and the role of advocacy in political as well as social change. The program concludes with Political Careers for Girls as participants learn about the myriad professional opportunities for women in the political sector. Guest speakers for this portion of the program include three of the following professionals – a lobbyist, campaign manager, Congressional staffer, political fundraiser, media specialist, political correspondent/journalist or field organizer.
